Akwesasne Cultural Center

About The Akwesasne Cultural Center

The Akwesasne Cultural Center, Inc. began with the founding of a library in 1971, in order to curb the dropout rate in our community. In 1972, cultural classes started and donations to the center began our museum collections. The board of directors, and the staff of the library and museum are Akwesasne Mohawk community members.
