It is with excitement and pride that we are able to announce the opening of the Akwesasne Cultural Center Gallery. The Gallery will be opening with works of Art from four artists who have passed but still continue to inspire and challenge us. Gesso Thomas, John Thomas, John Fadden, and Michael Bero works will be part of the inaugural showing at the Akwesasne Cultural Center Gallery.
The Gallery will be a place for community artists of all mediums. The Gallery is a semi-permanent space that is curated and managed by the Cultural Manager, Marla Jacobs. With the expansion of The Gallery, the Akwesasne Cultural Center will be able to further showcase and amplify the voice of our community.
The monthly artist residencies will begin in February. Our goal is to provide local artists a space to display and make their art available to the world. With that being said, please be sure to stop in, enjoy the culture, and help us celebrate the wonderful and talented artists coming this year at the Akwesasne Cultural Center Gallery.
